Biconvex lenses [Available in various sizes, substrates, and coatings!]

Selling a variety of sizes, focal lengths, coatings (from UV to IR), and substrate materials of biconvex lenses as standard products, available for purchase from just one piece!

Edmund Optics offers a wide range of optimal biconvex lenses (optical lenses with convex surfaces of the same curvature on both sides) for imaging objects located at image relays and near conjugate points. We have a large standard inventory of plano-convex lenses in various sizes, focal lengths, coatings, and substrate materials, and we can deliver them in a short lead time. We also accommodate secondary processing of standard products and custom orders. ■ Coating options: - No coating - UV-AR (250-425nm) - UV-VIS (250-700nm) - MgF2 (400-700nm) - VIS-NIR (400-1000nm) - VIS 0° (425-675nm) - NIR I (600-1050nm) - NIR II (750-1550nm) ■ Substrate material options: - N-BK7, N-SF5, N-SF11, N-K5 - Calcium fluoride - Synthetic quartz ■ Convenient plano-convex lenses & single lens kits are also available. *You can download the catalog of these products from Edmund Optics Japan using the link below.

List of Double Convex Lenses

Short delivery time for stock sales! All items available for sale from one piece.

Edmund Optics offers a range of biconvex lenses that utilize substrate materials and anti-reflective coatings optimized for maximum performance in ultraviolet (UV), visible, or infrared (IR) wavelengths. The anti-reflective coatings include UV-AR, UV-VIS, MgF2, VIS 0°, VIS-NIR, NIR I, and NIR II. Additionally, biconvex lenses made from UV-grade synthetic quartz and calcium fluoride (CaF2) substrates are also available for ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) spectra. Biconvex lenses made from UV-grade synthetic quartz are ideal for near-conjugate imaging systems that utilize UV illumination. Calcium fluoride (CaF2) has a very wide transmission range from 350nm to 7μm. Edmund Optics' biconvex lenses are extensively available in various sizes and focal lengths. Biconvex lens <focal length: 3-300>

Suitable for applications such as magnifying lenses and focusing lenses! It is ideal for compact optical systems.

"Double convex lenses" have a positive focal point and are mainly used for magnifying images and focusing applications. Compared to plano-convex lenses, they have a stronger power to refract light, making them suitable for compact optical systems such as lighting systems, telescopes, monoculars, microscopes, binoculars, cameras, and projectors. In the case of the human eye, they are used to create virtual images, while in the case of photographic film or optical sensors, they are used to generate real images. 【Specifications】 ■Material: B270, BK-7 ■Refractive Index: B270 (1.5230/nd, 1.5251/ne), BK-7 (1.51680/nd, 1.51872/ne) ■Design Wavelength: 587.6nm (d line) ■Chamfering (45°) with protective chamfer ・φ3 to φ5: 0.1mm ・φ10 to φ100: 0.2mm *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Synthetic quartz biconvex lens <focal length: 5-300>

Used to generate a virtual image in the case of the human eye and a real image in the case of photographic film or optical sensors!

"Synthetic Quartz Biconvex Lenses" have a stronger power to refract light compared to plano-convex lenses, making them suitable for compact optical systems such as lighting systems, telescopes, monoculars, microscopes, binoculars, cameras, and projectors. Our synthetic quartz material (equivalent to ES) also has a high transmittance in the ultraviolet wavelength range, excellent thermal expansion and thermal shock resistance, making it suitable for use in high-temperature environments. Additionally, we accept custom orders for anti-reflective coatings and other specifications. 【Specifications】 ■ Material: Synthetic Molded S.F.S ■ Refractive Index: 1.4585/nd, 1.4681/ne ■ Design Wavelength: 587.6nm (d line) ■ Chamfering (45°) → Protective chamfering available ・φ5: 0.1mm ・φ10 to φ100: 0.2mm *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
